The photos are fantatsic!!!! Love the Circa 70 you recommended. The Musuem there in Wrangell would love digital versions of many of your photos. You must try and get back up there. The week of July 4th is when all the folks return for reunions!!!! ~Ed
I'm really reluctant to post photos to the internet that include recognizable people though they were taken almost forty years ago.
I have some pix of high school kids cleaning up Front St. with fire hoses. Probably preparing for the 4th, but possibly the cleanup day we used to do every spring. I haven't posted them simply because some might feel they are an invasion of privacy.
Thanks for all the comments from folks - it's nice to see your names in the guestbook.
Most excellent, however, I don't remember all the "sunshine" just lots of grey drizzly days..Naw, the best folks, excellent upbringing and country to be born and raised in. I worked both the Longshore ships, and the airport for Alaska Airlines..keep looking for some people shots...esp. Stikine Air, Chuck/John and those shots of Kates Needle/River stuff.....be safe
Brings back lots of memories of growing up in the 50's and 60's.
In the late 50's we lived in the white house across the street from the mill (it's still standing). Every morning we had to sweep away the klinkers on the front portch from the wood burner.

What a great show! Lee and I owned the Totem Bakery for year's we raised our two daughters on Wrangell. These pictures bring back wonderful memories of life on the Island. It's fun to see all the names on the comments. I still remember lots of the folks. Miss you All, Kay Grand Rapids, Michigan
Tony: I thoroughly enjoyed the photos. My wife and I live three miles from Pelican towards Phonograph Cove. We have spent two years collecting historical photos of Pelican, if anyone would like to contact us they can reach us through our website www.pelicancharters.com. We are always looking for additional photos.
I was privileged to have had Cerina in my class when I taught at the high school. She had a true talent for art. I still think of the kids from '69 and miss them.

Thanks for all the great memories, I have just moved to Grand Rapids, MI from the Island. I lived there about 54-55 years. My husband was Lee Stella and we owned the Bakery, It was great to see all the pictures of my home. Kathryn "Kay" Stella
Yes Babe and other Pelican folks - I am doing digital now and have digitized much of my Alaska stuff. I posted a new album for Pelican people to see themselves in the 60's and have it password protected to keep it for Pelican folks only. I'll provide that password to any Pelican people who'd like it. I can be reached at jtn@verizon.net

Mr. Nazar, It's always a real treat seeing old pics. of the home town of Pelican, even though I usually spend the summer there fishing, but I too, somehow missed the 60's, your pictures brought back alot of old memories, I'll try to reach you two on the e-mail side....thanks alot for the trip,
How fun to see your pictures on the web. Although I was raised in Pelican and have lived here forever, I was gone for awhile in the mid sixties. I have heard you and your wife's name a lot through the years but I don't think we ever actually met. I will forward your web site/pictures to some friends who I think will know you. My folks were Liz & Joe Paddock and my sister, Vivian Max and brothers Snuffy & Bill. Also will make sure that Norm Carson and his wife see your site as they have been working on historical picture journals of Pelican History. Are you now taking pictures digitally? Happy New Years to you and yours!

Betty and I really enjoyed your pictures! We came to Wrangell in 1973. I worked at the Hospital doing Laboratory and X-Ray work. Betty taught first and second grade in the elementary school. When they remodeled it, she moved over to the trailers, by the High School, and then back to the present Elementary School. We hope everything is going well with you.
Tony, Your photography is awesome! I have lived in Wrangell for almost 13 years and have really enjoyed going through the pictures. Thanks for sharing. Kathi Kirschner
We've been retired almost 11 years and are still enjoying life in Wrangell. We'd both like to visit Maine some day, so if we do will stop by and hay hello.
Tony, Thanks for the great flash back of Wrangell! I can smell the summer salt water and pulp from the log ships as I view these photos. The older I get, the more I appreciate the wonderful place that Wrangell is, and the terrific folks that live there. I have been living in Juneau for the past 25 years. Currently working as the Surgical Services Director here at the hospital. You must have done well with all of us "brats", we turned out alright. Thanks! Carlene

It's been over 30 years since we left Wrangell. If I get back, I'll be taking lots of photos.
